the Stanza "Vivere" collection

a collection of original line paintings by Bethany Cochran

Stanza [stan-zuh]

An arrangement of a certain number of lines, usually four or more, sometimes having a fixed length, meter, or rhyme scheme, forming a division of a poem.

Vivere [ˈvi.ve.re]
From Latin, meaning “to live, be alive”

//

I started working on this collection last year during quarantine. I wanted to create a collection that was a reflection and celebration of life and togetherness. Without having the use of color, I sought to incorporate vibrant imagery, movement and symbolism. I have never stretched myself to this extent with my line works, both with the stability of my human hand and bounds of my imagination.  I hope you enjoy the collection as much as I did creating it.
