Bethany is a portrait and figure artist based in North Carolina. She is self-taught and fell in love with the arts at a young age growing up in Brooklyn, NY. She is recognized for her emotive color palettes, gestural brush strokes, yet realistic forms.
Bethany's portraiture is seen in the November issue of House & Garden. "Bethany Cochran’s portraiture has a classical-contemporary twist. Her paintings are recognised for her emotive colour palettes, gestural brush strokes, yet realistic forms." Read full feature on the H&G website shops "For the Home" here. You will also find her work featured in the November 2019 print issue in your local bookstore.

This collection is an extension of the Spring 2019 Stanza collection, which emerged from an intensive time of study and reflection on my time as a dancer and the human form. For this collection I continue to have a focused interest in posture, movement and powerful pauses.
